Brit Salsa Fest - Public Statement by Kate  & Emma Moore

Manchester High Court has ruled that Paul Young, Director of Salsa UK, cannot use Brit Salsafest assets for Salsa UK’s own benefit.
In a public statement by former Brit Fest business partners Emma & Kate Moore say: “We (Kate and Emma Moore) took legal action as a last resort to protect our 50% stake in the business and ensure Salsa UK operated in the  interests of the partnership into the future.
We today regard that legal action as a success. It has only been since we took legal action that  Salsa UK has been forced to act lawfully and accept we are due 50% of profits  associated with the BritFest event and that the partnership’s assets can only  be used for the benefit of all 3 partners.  These assets include the name  ‘Brit Salsafest’ and its derivatives, the venue (Winter Gardens) and the February dates.”

BRIT SALSA FEST
2008 CANCELLED

SALSA-UK FOUNDER PAUL YOUNG HAS FORMALLY ANNOUNCED THE CANCELLATION OF THIS YEAR’S BRITFEST.
“It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I have to announce the cancellation of the Brit Salsa Fest at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool 1 - 3 February 08. This agonising decision to cancel has been arrived at after weeks of us struggling to keep the event alive but on balance I believe it
is in the best interests of everyone to take this course of action.
Of course all advance payments to the BritFEST will be refunded ASAP and we will also offer those who prefer to carry their deposits forward for the UK Congress or any other Salsa UK event a generous discount for your loyal custom,” comments Paul Young.
Britfest was one of the UK’s most important salsa events and the North’s premier salsa congress. For months now, there have been doubts about the future of the festival following the parting of the ways between joint organisers, Salsology’s Emma & Kate Moore and Salsa-UK’s Paul Young.
